Changelog
What’s new on afasttest.com. This page is maintained in English.
Smoother, calmer results July 16, 2026
- The live meter now animates smoothly instead of jumping between readings.
- The results screen no longer pushes the page around: the summary appears in place, and detailed panels (responsiveness, quality grades, real-world terms, connection details, history, raw samples) fold away until you open them.
- Throughput charts draw a smoothed curve that reflects how the connection actually feels; statistics are still computed on the raw samples.
- History entries can be labeled ("Home Wi-Fi", "Office fiber") and deleting a record — or clearing all of them — now asks for confirmation.
- Added this changelog.
From 3 languages to 20 July 15, 2026
- The whole site — test, guides, FAQ, methodology, privacy and terms — is now available in 20 languages, including Español, Português, Deutsch, Français, Italiano, Polski, Nederlands, Русский, Українська, Türkçe, العربية (with right-to-left layout), 한국어, ไทย, Tiếng Việt, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
Pre-launch polish July 12, 2026
- Every page now renders from a single request — styles are inlined at build time, so nothing blocks first paint.
- Published the sitemap at /sitemap.xml and tightened robots.txt.
- The browser now connects to the measurement network as soon as the page loads, so the test starts faster when you press START.
Settings, history and a calmer start screen July 12, 2026
- New settings panel: choose Mbps or MB/s, 12- or 24-hour times, and whether results are saved on your device at all.
- Test history is one click away from the header, before or after a test.
- The start screen is now just the question and the button; the language selector moved to the footer as a compact menu.
Guides, terms and privacy July 12, 2026
- Added eight plain-language guides: what a good speed is, improving your connection, Wi-Fi vs wired, latency and jitter, bufferbloat, fiber vs cable vs DSL, Starlink and satellite internet, and Mbps vs MB/s.
- Added proper Terms of Service and a fully sectioned Privacy Policy.
afasttest launches July 11, 2026
- A free, private internet speed test measured against Cloudflare’s edge network in 300+ cities: download, upload, idle and loaded latency, jitter and a bufferbloat grade.
- Live two-channel throughput charts, per-activity quality grades and real-world translations of your numbers.
- Results are computed in your browser and never uploaded — the site has no server. Share cards and links are generated on your device.
- Available in English, 简体中文 and 日本語.
